I make several styles of Cross-type pens. All
take genuine Cross refills (but most come with a generic).
The classic look with a unique twist is my popular
Center-Twist pen. It turns in the middle to
extend the
ballpoint, and back again to retract it. Pulls apart like a Cross pen to refill.
The one-piece style may have an ergonomic, Dip-Grip
or it may have a straight grip. The point turns on/off at the metal tip, and
pulls apart there to replace the ink refill. (This style is also used in my Fridge
Pens.)
Fisher (the Space
Pen company) makes a refill to fit Cross (their SC series). My Fridge Pens
love them!
My customers love this unique one-piece
pen — uncommon among wooden writing instruments — for it's carved as
well as turned. The triangular grip requires extra handwork to achieve, but the
fit feels great — especially for people with a touch of
arthritis or trouble with those thin, slippery, metal pens.
By the way... I'd like to acknowledge the guy who taught
me
the intricacies of making this style of pen. His name is Peter
Sharp.
